The annual Mongolian festival is just around the corner (literally for us, as it takes place in the Golden Gate Park).  We can't wait to sample culinary dishes and learn about traditions such as the ankle bone shooting contest and Mongolian wrestling!

The Naadam San Francisco festival takes place at the Golden Gate Park, West Speedway Meadow, on July 10, 2010 from 10am - 4pm.  Last year, the event ran from 11am - 5 pm and program events included the following:

11:00 -11:30 Opening Ceremony (National Anthem, Flag Raising)
11:30-12:15 Mongolian Morin Khuur and Folk Concert
12:30-16:30 Mongolian National Wrestling
12:20-15:30 Mongolian Ankle Bone Shooting
14:30-15:15 Children¹s Race
15:30-16:00 Tug of War
16:30-17:00 Winners¹ Award Ceremony
17:00-17:15 Closing Ceremony
11:30-17:00 Children¹s Fun at the Jump House
11:30-17:00 Mongolian Souvenir and Food Court
